I Am That Woman : A Story of Servival and Strength In November 2021, I received a life-changing diagnosis: cancer. To say it was a shock would be an understatement. But rather than allowing fear and doubt to consume me, I chose to face this challenge with hope, resilience, and vulnerability. The early days were overwhelming—medical appointments, treatment plans, and decisions I never imagined having to make. But I quickly realized that my greatest ally in this fight would be my mindset. I embraced a healing mentality, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. As I navigated my journey, I began sharing my experiences on social media. I wanted to show that cancer does not define me. Yes, I have it—but it does not have me. It does not get to take my strength, my will, or my desire to live and thrive. I found strength not only in the treatments and doctors I trusted but also in the love and support of friends, family, and even strangers. Their kindness reminded me that no one fights alone, even when life feels at its darkest. Out of this journey, I created “I Am That Woman” (IATW), a platform dedicated to empowering women to face their challenges—whatever they may be—with courage and determination. If cancer has taught me anything, it’s that life is unpredictable and fragile. But that doesn’t mean we should fear it. While we can’t control everything, we can control how we respond. I choose to fight. I choose to stay hopeful. I choose to seek light in every circumstance. I share my story in the hope that it inspires others to meet life’s challenges with resilience and faith. Healing—whether physical, emotional, or mental—is always within reach.
